In web conferences, audio is the crux of a successful meeting. If you can’t hear or be heard, the event won’t be successful. This brief is for GoToMeeting organizers and attendees to understand what influences a great audio experience in GoToMeeting. Follow these audio tips to ensure a positive audio experience for everyone in your next online meeting.
1. Choose audio options that suit your audience

When setting up the audio options for your online meeting, we recommend selecting the option to provide both VoIP and telephone, allowing your attendees to choose how they enter the online event. If you are presenting to a global audience or delivering a sales pitch, consider offering local, international and toll-free numbers to join the session.

2. Instruct attendees and presenters to enter their audio PIN number
Effect: Ability to control audio
When dialing in to the web conference by phone, both attendees and presenters need to enter their unique audio PIN that is visible in the Audio panel of GoToMeeting when Telephone
is selected there.
3. Encourage everyone to use a headset
Effect: Clear audio
Using a USB or analog headset during online meetings helps everyone sound clearer. When it comes to headsets, using just about any functional headset is better than not using one at all.

4. Advise both presenters and attendees to select the correct audio connection
Effect: Elimination of echo and ability to control attendee’s audio
To eliminate echoes, instruct presenters and attendees who have dialed in by phone to select Telephone
in the GoToMeeting Audio panel.
5. Know how to troubleshoot
Effect: Control of your online session
If you experience trouble getting into the session (for instance: you hear a busy signal or lose the connection), GoToMeeting provides additional numbers to dial in to the session. In the Audio panel under the audio PIN is a link that says, “Problem dialing in?”
